Lay Eucharistic Visitors

Lay Eucharistic Visitors (LEVs) bring communion that is blessed during Sunday morning worship to parishioners who are in the hospital or unable to attend church due to injury or health restrictions. LEVs meet regularly for prayer and training. For more information, contact Peder Otterson, LEV Chair.

Community of Hope

The Community of Hope International is a pastoral care training program whose purpose is “to create Christian communities of lay volunteer pastoral care givers united in prayer, shaped by Benedictine spirituality and equipped for and serving in pastoral care ministries.” Benedictine spirituality is a contemplative approach to spirituality that focuses on balancing work with peace and prayer.

After the yearly training, lay chaplains are commissioned to minister regularly to the community, wherever they feel called. That may be within the church, at a senior center, crisis nursery or soup kitchen. The group reconvenes monthly for Circle of Care meetings where they pray together and share experiences in ministry.
